AjiSignal is starting to look at people who are helping make the music in cities. We’re opening up the city based music envelope a little further.
This week we did our first article with this theme, about engineer and producer Chris Testa’s Greenhouse Studio in Silver Lake, Los Angeles.
Hope you enjoy it and can find some interesting information inside the articles.

It was a few weeks back when I heard about the Said The Gramophone music video contest. I immediately thought of my brother Dan, who I knew would be into something like this. And, since AjiSignal was fortunate to have the talented doods at Said The Gramophone as Montreal contributors, I thought this was going to be something pretty cool.
Dan and I both decided to do a video for an artist that we’ve highlighted on AjiSignal. Dan did one for Orillia Opry and I did one for The Hot Springs
Here is my video for The Hot Springs – Gotta DJ-yea I hear you laughing:) But Dan’s was selected to be in the top 9.
They did a nice job with the contest. Check out the rest of the finalists too.

Fixture Recordings, Montreal

Looking for a good way to spend Valentine’s Day this year? Why not take your Valentine to a show and take in some good music? Montreal based Fixture Recordings is putting on an event to showcase some of their artists who have releases coming out.
Postcards, Brave Radar, and Dirty Beaches will be playing that night. You can get a glimpse of their new music, that isn’t on any MySpace page, in this Indyish.com podcast.
Show is at Le Cagibi. Doors are at 9, show is at 10. Share some love with Fixture Recording artists this Valentine’s Day!
Here is the coolest thing: Pay $7 or more to get in, and you get a free new release (not sure if you can choose what artist, maybe it’ll be a compilation, maybe it’ll be a surprise). Otherwise it is a “pay-what-you-want” event”! Very cool idea Fixture.

AjiSignal Interview on Indie Music 2.0

Duncan Freeman over at Indie Music 2.0 had some questions about AjiSignal. He reached out to us with some of his questions and asked me to respond. Of course I did, and here are my responses! I like Duncan’s blog. He writes about good stuff and seems to really lean towards helping musicians with type of material he covers.
Thanks Duncan!
Hope everyone is having a good Holiday season and a nice end to 2007!
